Can you ceramic coat over PPF?
Short answer
Yes. When both are done, film goes on first and the coating goes over it. The films APC chooses already come with a built-in coating, so coating over them isn't needed. APC can coat over other brands' films that aren't coated.

Why does film go on first?
Film needs to bond directly to the paint. A coating underneath would get in the way. So the film goes on first, and anything you want coated, including the film, gets coated after.
Do I need a coating on my film?
Not with the films APC chooses. They already have a built-in coating, so they're slick and hydrophobic out of the box. A coating still makes sense for the parts of the car that aren't filmed, like the rest of the paint, wheels and glass.

APC installs STEK film, which has a built-in coating, and Ceramic Pro coatings for the rest of the car. Applying a ceramic coating over film takes about an hour. Adding a ceramic coating package to a PPF package adds a day to the appointment, so a one-day Full Front becomes about two days.
