Will PPF fix rock chips I already have?
Short answer
No. Film protects paint from new damage, but it can't repair chips or damage already there. Existing chips stay as they are under the film. APC inspects the car first and tells you honestly what result to expect. Whether to do touch-up or paint correction first is part of that conversation.

| Touch-up or correction first | Discussed at inspection |
Why can't film fix chips?
Film is a protector, not a repair. Think of a phone screen protector on a screen that's already cracked: the crack is still there, just covered.
Should I fix chips before getting film?
It depends on how many chips there are and how they look. Touch-up or paint correction before film is something APC talks through with you at inspection, so you know what to expect before anything is installed.
How do I avoid this next time?
Protect paint before it picks up damage. See Should you put PPF on a brand-new car right away?
How APC Auto Spa does it
APC inspects every vehicle before install and is honest about the expected result, including how existing chips will look under the film.
